Trains and Tee shirts.

After several failed attempts at trying to get a picture of Engine # 11 at the local museum I have finally succeeded. Note that they have recently restored the headlight, replacing the white dome that has stood in for the headlight since 11's entrance into the museum.

Also that Star Trek tee shirt I ordered in spring has finally arrived. After putting it up for next Halloween I tried on the Star Wars Jedi robe I wore the year Episode II came out. The waist came up to my mid abdomen. Yeah that robe is way to small.

One again on the subject of trains is the LEGO model of an EMD DDA40X Diesel engine that I just assembled. First a picture of the real deal. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:UnionPacific6922.jpg)

Yes it is HUGE the biggest diesel engine ever. Now for the model I designed from scratch, also huge in the LEGO world.

This model is about 1 1/2 feet long and includes a full cab. The model has been modified since this photo to have a more accurate wheel and horn arrangement.
Well that is what is up today. Until next time, your friend, Jacob.

Hi Everybody!

Boy, am I sure lazy with this blog...

Well last time I wrote here it was still summer. How I miss summer. There is snow on the mountains now and summer has only been over for less than a few weeks. Right now my Grandparents are visiting and later on today is General Conference. Also about a week back I was in the parade for homecoming. Later on I watched our beloved team lose, badly. So that is my life, unless you want to hear about my summer watching re-runs.

Lego Summer

Summer! A word that not only means being off school but messing with my collection of Lego bricks. Today I will showcase my recent custom builds.

First of is the engine #12 snowplow. This snowplow is the remnant of a scrapped train that used to travel a former local rail line. The real snowplow is on display at a local museum along with engine #12's sister train, #11.

Before it was scraped into a snowplow, #12 was a proud Brooks engine that traveled up local rails carrying materials from the main line to a local mine and smelter. When the age of diesel came, #12 was scrapped into its current snowplow state.

The next vehicle is fictional but known the world over as...

... NX-01 ENTERPRISE

The hero ship of the T.V. show Star Trek: Enterprise, this ship was the first warp 5 vessel in the Trek universe and the precursor to the famed NCC-1701 ENTERPRISE.

Up next are a few more Trek ships that I came up with myself.

The M.A.C.O assault gunboat is a small heavily armed ship intended for defense of larger targets.

The U.S.S. GENEVA is a small medical ship that can provide ambulance service between disabled ships and large medical facilities.
Well that is my summer Lego content, enjoy!

Back from Camp

I have just returned from camp on Saturday and have been enjoying these past few days at home. The camp was a 3 day one in the Uintas. It was fun but I am glad to be back. I hope to get pictures up soon if I can scan them into the computer.

Post School Syndrome

I am currently in the state of mind where I am asking; What am I going to do this summer?
Fortunately I have been keeping busy by, biking around town, watching reruns of Star Trek the Next Generation, and playing on our new Guitar Hero World Tour set.

That is my summer and that is what I am doing.

Apache Helicopter

Today will be now known as Jacobs Military day.

I decided today will be that because I had a decent sized air soft war up in the nearby air soft battle grounds. I had an enjoyable time especially with my Kamikaze attacks on the other team.

The second reason is due to the fact I saw at least one (maybe two) Apache attack helicopters flying near my house today. I thought it was cool.
School is almost out, I am excited.

Well goodbye! I will talk with you later.

P.S. Did I tell you about the new Star Trek film yet? I will have to post photos of the model of the U.S.S. Enterprise model I bought when it is completed. ( It is the original NCC-1701 for those of you wondering.)

Do not panic. I am still here.

Breath, Calm, settle.

I am still here and still stewarding this blog.

I just don't want to talk with you for now.

Why you ask?

I am still drooling over the new Star Trek film.

So when my nerdy hang over is over I will speak with you.

Until then may the force be with you and may you live long and prosper.

Happy Star Wars day!

Apparently some one decided today was " Star Wars Day." So,,,May the Fourth be with you!

Okay my sister and dad were right, this is really geeky!

Fortunately all 7 of my readers know I am a Star Wars fan so they will not mind.

Or will they?*

* Another quirk of mine, the repeated use of "Or will they?"

Uh Oh

I can just picture this dialog going on while this picture was taken...

" Sir we have detected something on our scanners."
" What is it "
" It is that Jacob nerd again!"
"Oh no close the stations doors, close the ...(static)"

Behind the Scenes

Behold, one of the behind the scenes Disneyland stuff you may have wondered about!

The mysterious garage for the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad trains!

(Yes I do know this is kinda a random post.)

Variety

So at the request of my sister I have diversified the photos of my Disneyland trip with those of my family and not of Space Mountain.

Unfortunately I do not have the strength to remove Space Mountain so the family photo is of us in the line for Space Mountain.

It is called compromise sister!

Half Way There.

What can I say about Wednesday.

BE DONE ALL READY!!!

Anticipation builds for spring break next week. But.......

Anticipation is KILLING ME.

Okay maybe the wait isn't that bad, each day is still 24 hours and still feels like 24 hours. But when your waiting for something as awesome as I am doing this spring break Tuesday feels like it should be Friday.

End week end already!!

Soda Fountain

Who said mixing soda was disgusting? It all matters on several basic principles,

1 Have a base flavor, like Sprite or cola.

2 Fruit flavors will always mix well.

3 Cola flavors do not mix well.

4 Root beer does not mix well!

5 Do not drown out the base flavor, ever!

Lost in Cyber Space

Writers block, a nightmare for even a blogger! As you have noticed my blog has been empty for a while because of dreaded writers cramp. Do not worry about writters cramp though because when it happens I will not be informing you again!* (Although no posts in a week is a sign of writters cramp)

*Okay maybe I will inform you again.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME (or do)

Warning Disgusting Food Content

Ah the days in the condo! Our current home was under construction and we had to live in a temporary rental. Unfortunately our home had no cupboard space. So all we had on hand for meals was very limited supplies.

Using some ingenuity I concocted a desert of our very sparse supplies.

First I got four frozen waffles.

I then doused the waffles in Ice Cream.

Now if I had left it alone here maybe I would of created something edible! But instead I decided to add....

.....Almond Extract.....

....And A LOT of it.

Hence we ended up eating soggy almond waffles that night.

Never eat soggy waffles.

Ever!!!

Jacob now has a Blog . Why? I don't really know why.
